My “Pokemon Cards” Phase During Quarantine.

Judging from my own personal life and what my friends share on social media, I noticed that there are a lot of “Phases” that Atenean students went through this quarantine. At the start of the quarantine, everyone was so excited to engage with each other online. Everyone was playing online get-together games like Jackbox, Skribble, Etc. with their friends and org mates. But everyone got tired of all the online hangouts and E-numan and so came the next phase, the “Series Phase”. I am sure there's one point in this quarantine where we all just watch Netflix and Youtube all day. Then came the “Entrepreneurial Phase”! From food, clothing (especially activewear!), and other products and services, Ateneans just started making their own online business. Men have always had that “Gaming Phase” even before the pandemic but a lot of women actually started to get into gaming this quarantine as well. To contradict with the “Gaming Phase” is the “Productive Phase” where we all wanted to learn something by reading a book or watching youtube. Last but not the least, we all had that “Fitness Phase” this quarantine, and Kudos to you if you are still disciplined to workout at this point! Cause that “Phase” is already done for me.

So yes, I've done all of that phases. I still do some of the activities listed above but I constantly ask myself, what's next? Video Games started to get boring, all of the series I'm interested in have been watched, the stock market became stagnant, and books and education lost their sense of enlightenment for me. I was in search for what's the next thing to do this quarantine. And I think this is where the idea of Sensazione comes into play. Despite the absence of the outside world, the constant search for living and experiencing new things must continue. Last November, I introduced myself to the hobby of collecting Pokemon Cards. Yes, printed cardboards. Quarantine was so boring that it made me venture into collecting wherein back then, I would see it as a waste of time and money. To cope with this quarantine, our inner Sensazione manifested in different forms some through art and others through music. It just so happen that my inner Sensazioe manifested through the form of collecting. So here are some of the cards I collected within the 1-month time frame.

This has been my form of escape from this quarantine. Collectibles especially cards (NBA and Pokemon) skyrocketed in value because a lot of people started to venture into the collecting hobby. I personally enjoy Pokemon cards because aside from completing my collection I get to earn money. The photos I showed above are my Pikachu collection although some of it already got showed because it tripled quadrupled in the price I bought it. To give an idea, I spent around 150K pesos to build my Pikachu collection and other pokemon collection ridiculous right? but I am only able to do that because I was also able to earn 200K (and counting) just by selling and flipping cards. In short, Im basically earning pokemon cards not cash because the cash I earn I spend on Pokemon cards.

In the end, our inner sensazione craves for new experiences, new hobbies, new things. After 3 months, I am almost done with my “Pokemon Phase” and looking forward to other new things to experience.
